Summary:

The U.S. Mission in Cairo/Egypt is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Administrative Management Assistant in the Regional Security Office.
                - The work schedule for this position is: Full Time - 40 hours per week.


Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

Duties

The incumbent serves as the financial management advisor on all financial issues related to Local Guard Program (LGP) allotments. S/he must keep the Regional Security Office (RSO) Management Officials up-to-date on the status of funds and should advise on actions needed to preclude any funding shortfalls. Prepares field budget plans, mid-year financial plans and all related reports as required by the office management. Maintains financial controls, monitors accounts, and makes necessary adjustments when required. The incumbent is the principal point of contact for LGP employees on matters related to payment and pay entitlements. Provides work guidance and supervises one Security Clerk. Reports to the Local Guard Force Deputy Chief and the Assistant Regional Security Officer in charge of the Local Guard Program.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE: Three years of experience in an administrative position is required - two of those years must have been in work involving budgeting, accounting or finance.


JOB KNOWLEDGE: Must have thorough knowledge of the budgeting process including financial planning and allotment accounting. Must be knowledgeable of financial management rules and regulations.

Education Requirements:

College Degree is required.

Evaluations:

LANGUAGE:  Level III (Good working knowledge) speaking/reading/writing of English is required. (this will be tested).


Level IV (Fluent) speaking/reading/writing of Arabic is required.


SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must be able to relate financial activities to financial plans (budgeting, planning, auditing). Must possess good interpersonal skills and be able to articulate complex issues both verbally and in writing.  Must be able to apply multiple agency guidance to varying circumstances. Thorough knowledge and use of computers and Microsoft platforms is required.

For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.


The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
